Lustrous and beautifully crystallized, this rare earth silicate exhibits a a mottled tan coloration. Allanite crystals are not often found this large and well-developed from any locale. Allanite crystals are sometimes slightly radioactive due to minor uranium or thorium inclusions, therefore, they are often metamict and rough. For an allanite, this piece is positively gorgeous, with some semblance of luster and color! A superb example for the species, and the locale. ex Sussman collection.
