A cabinet sized cluster of large, well-formed Ilmenite crystals from the Piedmont region of Italy. Rarely do we ever see Ilmenite in clusters of large, well-formed crystals like this! The piece isn't exceptionally attractive, however, the brownish to metallic crystals are well composed and feature blocky crystals from 2 to 4.5 cm across displaying a variety of forms. Big groups of Ilmenite like this are unusual, especially in nicely formed crystals with distinct crystal faces. The Ilmenite is just slightly magnetic too.
