Description
A monster specimen mined in the 1960s from a little-known copper-mining locality in Zambia (not to be confused with the famous Broken Hill locality in Australia). This whopper is ALL azurite and malachite - the azurite as small, sparkly blue crystals, and the malachite in massive form. Extra shipping due to size and weight. I have never seen more than a small hand-sized example for sale before, from here, and this was a shock to me, one aberrant boulder a geologist who worked here had literally shipped from the mine to be in his home, 30-plus years ago. I acquired it recently and broke it open to get at these beautiful vugs inside. Never seen the like. Its good azurite from anywhere but a particularly important locality piece.
Known provenanceKnowing where your specimen comes from and who owned it adds to its story and value. Good provenance helps prove it's authentic and preserves important details about its discovery.
