Description
A 1.3 cm, gemmy and lustrous, cherry-red realgar crsytal is set in a cleft in sugary dolomite on this fine specimen Lengenbach Quarry of Switzerland. The prismatic crystal is large for the species and locale. Stringers of bright pyrite microcrystals are a nice accent. Ex. Eric Asselborn Collection. This is one of the earliest locales from which crystallized realgar was known to science, and specimens from here are highly important in that historic context. This quarry is also home to many rare and unique species.
Known provenanceKnowing where your specimen comes from and who owned it adds to its story and value. Good provenance helps prove it's authentic and preserves important details about its discovery.
