Fine loose crystallized grouping of native copper, accented with coatings of micro cuprite crystals throughout. A floater with no points of attachment, complete all around. In good condition. Typical of the species and locality, the crystals are not exceptionally sharp but the aesthetics and arrangements are quite pleasing. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Jan Erik Larsen and dates to 2007.The Oumjrane mining district, situated in the eastern Anti-Atlas region of Morocco, features a complex geological setting composed of deformed Paleozoic sedimentary rocks, including sandstone, quartzite, and shale formations, cut by regional faults and hydrothermal veins. The area has a long mining history that dates back centuries, with traditional and small-scale colonial-era French workings targeting rich polymetallic veins. Modern commercial extraction and localized prospecting have since revived the district, making it globally famous among mineral collectors and geologists for producing vibrant secondary copper specimens and associated crystallization matrices from its desert and underground deposits.
