A cluster of glassy gem quality sharply formed quartz crystals, these hosting inclusions of golden needlelike rutile crystals. Minor hematite is present. In very good condition, an excellent thumbnail for this famous material. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Ray DeMark.Located in the Bahia state of Brazil, the region around Ibitiara is celebrated for its remarkable hydrothermal quartz veins hosted within ancient sedimentary and metamorphic rock formations.
