The Prato Valley, an offshoot from the Lavizzara valley in the southern Alps in Ticino, Switzerland is not often represented in mineral collections but this older miniature specimen shows that it has produced some small, but very lovely Adularia crystals which are themselves nicely complimented by small dark coloured Clinochlore rosettes, and brown Titanite microcrystals. A small, sugary-textured rock matrix is covered across one side with sharp, well-formed, pseudorhombic glossy, white Adularia crystals to 8 mm in length with Clinochlore and Titanite dotted around the remaining matrix on the other side of the specimen. It is from the superb systematic collection assembled by the brothers Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021) and is very sweet.
