Classic Les Farges mine burnt-orange Pyromorphite crystals encrust Baryte matrix on this smaller cabinet piece, but in this instance the Baryte is not only the typical compact, opaque creamy-white bladed variety, but is also topped with well-formed, glassy, grey bladed crystals in a parallel arrangement. There is, some significant damage to areas of the Pyromorphite crystals, where they have been bruised and chipped away from impact, but the Baryte crystals are really unusual and present nicely. The largest Pyromorphite crystal reaches 6 mm in length, but most are in the order of 3 to 4 mm and show the typical seed-like form.
