This is a fascinatingly unusual specimen from the alpine cleft deposits at Alchuri in the Shigar Valley, Skardu District, Baltistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. It is dominated by a strangely conical, hoppered, colourless, glassy Quartz crystal (the variety known as Rock Crystal) sat on the surface of a complex naturally etched aggregate of rough-textured beige-coloured rhombic Siderite crystals alligned in stepped growths. A cluster of several parallel, very glassy, colourless, platy hexagonal Fluorapatite crystals also sits upon the surface of the Siderite a short distance away from the Quartz crystal. A quite unusual alpine-type display for Pakistan.
