Despite an intensity in colour rarely seen in Aquamarine from elsewhere, it is rare to see specimens from the Chitral District in north-west Pakistan. Indeed, this superb cabinet-sized display specimen is one of the best we have ever seen. Upon it, the Beryl var. Aquamarine crystals form five individual striking pale cornflower-blue, glossy, hexagonal prisms, reaching to 1 cm in length. With typical flat pinacoid terminations, with no obvious chipping, the only damage to be seen is on the rear of the specimen, out of sight from display but where one of the Aquamarine crystals is fractured away down one side. The Aquamarine crystals really do stand out extremely well against their contrasting matrix of colourless to white, platy Cleavelandite in rosetted groups and olive-green stacked platy Muscovite mica crystals. A really rather special Pakistan Aquamarine from this lesser-known occurrence.
