Neat combination specimen with a lustrous orange pseudo-octahedral crystal of scheelite 2.5 cm across set on a muscovite crystal matrix with rhombohedral crystals of calcite to 1.2 cm in size. In great condition.Located in the high alpine region of Sichuan Province, the Mount Little Xuebaoding deposit in Pingwu County features complex quartz-mica and quartz-feldspar-mica veins formed through granitic intrusions into metamorphic host rocks like marble and schist. Commercial mining and dedicated specimen collecting began accelerating around the mid-to-late 1990s, turning the area into a world-famous locality renowned for yielding exceptional, museum-quality mineral specimens such as large euhedral orange scheelite crystals, gemmy blue tabular beryl crystals, the rare mineral kesterite, etc.
