Depending only on personal bias to which gem species you gravitate towards firstly, this is either a Tourmaline in Morganite (literally, "Sword in the Stone" as some called it), or a Morganite with very beautiful accents of tourmaline. The piece is simply unique, as a combination specimen from this mine or from anywhere. It features truly gem tourmalines set in a complete crystal of transparent to translucent morganite (beryl) with a rich pink color. No repairs or restorations, it is pristine. The specimen is published in numerous instances including in the books Minerals of Brazil and Mineral Collections in Brazil. Along with only a very few other morganites known for this mine (although none as fine), it is illustrated in the book on the Pederneira Mine (Mineralogical Record: January–February 2015). This was first in the personal collections of mine owners Daniel Trinchillo and Marcus Budil, later passing to Daniel, who sold it to me circa 2010 or so. It has long been in my own (Rob Lavinsky) personal collection of only 10 Brazilian pieces I had put away in the mid-2000s (and was published in one of the Texas Collectors books by the Mineralogical Record, as well).
