Lustrous slightly translucent green crystals of ludlamite to 1.5 cm in size across the top of a siderite crystal matrix. Minor pyrite is present as well. There are two prominent crystals present, both of these in super condition. There are several crystals close to the matrix that have minor cleaving as seen. Still a nice example for the species and locality. From the very early 1990s, the specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Ray DeMark.Santa Eulalia is a historic mining town located just east of Chihuahua City in Mexico. Founded during the Spanish colonial era in the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries, the settlement grew around one of the richest silver, lead, and zinc deposit districts in North America. The tremendous wealth generated by its mines helped finance the construction of the grand Chihuahua Cathedral and drove the early economic development of the region. Today, it remains renowned among historians and mineral collectors alike for its deep underground workings and rich heritage.
