Azurite from Morenci, Arizona, USA

Dug by Stan Esbenshade 1986.

From irocks.com, "This pocket was found in 1986 by Stan Esbenshade while working with Wayne on his contract with Phelps Dodge at their Morenci Mine. The company blasted through the zone and no more was ever recovered after a small 8 day window in which these were collected. The story is well told in Wayne Thompson's biography and memoirs, released by Mineralogical Record in 2026."
