Its mining history centers on late 19th and early 20th century commercial extraction efforts targeting native copper veins hosted within the basalt, alongside historical small-scale prospecting. The local rock cavities and vugs frequently host secondary minerals, including well-crystallized specimens of analcime, a common framework silicate mineral belonging to the zeolite family.
