Bright lustrous thin metallic skeletal crystal grouping of hematite. This is in good condition and complete all around with no points of attachment. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Ray DeMark.Ures, Sonora, Mexico, is situated within a complex geological province characterized by volcanic and hydrothermal activity that has long supported regional metal mining. Historic mining operations in the area primarily targeted polymetallic deposits associated with regional faulting and intrusive rocks. Within these mineralized zones, hydrothermal fluids precipitated exceptional specimens of iron oxides. Among mineral collectors, the locality is especially famous for producing striking skeletal and specular hematite crystals. These specimens feature sharp, metallic, tabular forms with hollow, stepped, or skeletal growth patterns that reflect rapid crystallization from iron-rich solutions in vugs and cavities.
