Barite - Chrysocolla/Malachite

Dimensions: 5.1 x 4.1 x 3.1cm Locality: Shangulowé mine, Kambove, territory, Haut Katanga, DR Congo A recent discovery, extracted from Shangulowé, a locality already famous for the discoveries of 1997-2002 and the barite-malachite association. The thick, tabular crystals display honey-colored edges and attractive green malachite phantoms. Highly structured, they are embedded in blue-green chrysocolla, which recrystallizes on the surface of the barite. These are very attractive specimens, creating striking and photogenic contrasts. Few pieces available. This one is one of the prettiest, with nicely sized, undamaged crystals.
