The size provided is the size of the largest example.The Blue Ball Mine, located a few miles south of Miami in Gila County, Arizona, is a small historic mining site that operated during the active eras of the regional copper boom in the early to mid-20th century. Geologically, the deposit is situated within the prolific Globe-Miami mining district, where complex Proterozoic and Laramide-aged intrusive and metamorphic rocks experienced extensive hydrothermal activity, faulting, and subsequent supergene oxidation. Mineralogically, the locality is famous among collectors for producing exceptional specimens of secondary copper minerals, particularly hollow blue azurite nodules and crystalline crusts that formed within oxidized fractures and cavities.
