Blue bladed crystals of azurite across the front of matrix with malachite. Nice color contrast, slight damage present but still in good condition. The Liufengshan Mine, located in the Guichi District of Chizhou, Anhui Province, China, is a notable copper-producing area with modern commercial operations that gained prominence among collectors around the early 2000s. Geologically, the deposit is situated within a metallogenic region characterized by hydrothermal and skarn-related activity, where intrusive rocks interact with carbonate sequences to form rich base metal concentrations. Within the oxidized zones of these copper deposits, weathering and groundwater circulation have driven secondary alteration processes. Consequently, the mine has become world-famous among mineral collectors for producing magnificent specimens of deep blue azurite crystal clusters intricately associated with vibrant green fibrous malachite.
