A loose pale yellow double terminated translucent crystal of anglesite. In good condition. Choice thumbnail for the species from a locality normally known for its world-class wulfenite specimens.The Erupcion Mine, located in the Sierra Los Lamentos of Chihuahua, Mexico, is a historic lead and silver mining operation discovered in the early twentieth century. Geologically, the deposit is a classic, inclined manto-type orebody hosted within Cretaceous limestones. Intensive oxidation processes heavily altered the primary sulfide minerals down to the lower levels, producing massive quantities of cerussite and anglesite that sustained commercial mining before water influxes halted major operations. The mine is internationally renowned among mineral collectors for yielding world-class, thick tabular to blocky, deep orange wulfenite crystals resting on contrasting white matrix.
