Brilliant yellow botryoidal crystallized smithsonite covering the top of matrix. In super condition. A wonderful colorful example for the species from this famous Mexican locality. The specimen was on public display at the 2026 Tucson Gem and Mineral show.The San Antonio Mine in the Santa Eulalia District of Chihuahua, Mexico, is part of a historic mining region that has been worked since the 18th century for lead, zinc, and silver. Mining expanded during the 19th and early 20th centuries as extensive underground workings were developed in carbonate hosted replacement deposits. The district became one of the most important mining centers in northern Mexico, producing large amounts of ore from interconnected mines. The San Antonio Mine contributed to this activity and is also known among collectors for mineral specimens from the oxidized zones of the deposit.
