A cluster of large lustrous skeletal translucent crystals of native sulfur without matrix. In terrific condition all around with no points of attachment. Complete all around and in very good condition.The El Desierto Mine in Bolivia is a mineral locality associated with volcanic and hydrothermal activity in the Andes. Deposits in the area formed from sulfur rich gases and hot fluids related to volcanic processes. Native sulfur occurs as bright yellow crystals and crusts that formed from the condensation of volcanic gases in cavities and fractures within the rock. Specimens from El Desierto are valued by collectors for their vivid color and well formed sulfur crystals.
