Zoila mine at Sierra Rica, Chihuahua, Mexico is a well-known Azurite occurrence which has, in recent years produced some noteworthy specimens. Rarely, the Azurite is associated with some much rarer secondary mineral species including Creedite - a hydrated calcium aluminium sulphate hydroxyfluoride. The Creedite from there is usually colourless to white and forms small, almost spherical aggregates composed of sharp, spikey crystals. This particular specimen is one of the best known from this occurrence, cabinet in size and featuring liberal coatings of undamaged sprays of Creedite associated with small deep blue Azurite crystals on a bed of thin acicular Quartz crystals. As a bonus, the back of the specimen features pale baby blue spherical masses of the even rarer species Prosopite - calcium aluminium fluoride.
