While calcite from the same mine is fairly common, aragonite was only found in the first couple of meters of the mine and never afterwards. This specimen was initially owned by a miner alongside others of worse quality. It came to the collection of the previous owners and stayed there for some years. I am very thankful and proud to have such a rare piece of history in my collection of post-Soviet minerals.
