Chrysocolla on Quartz Tentadora Mine

This exceptional specimen comes from a small 2018 pocket that produced only a handful of high‑level chrysocolla‑on‑quartz pieces, all of which sold rapidly. Several sharply terminated quartz crystals, ranging from 1 to 4.5 cm, rise together in a sculptural arrangement that forms the foundation for two striking generations of chrysocolla.

The first generation is a smooth, deep turquoise coating that blankets nearly all the quartz, leaving only a small area exposed to reveal the original crystal surfaces beneath. The second generation adds dramatic texture and dimension, forming vibrant green‑blue botryoidal growths that selectively cover portions of the earlier layer. These bubbly overgrowths are a few millimeters thick and create a vivid contrast in both color and form.

The composition is beautifully balanced, with crisp crystal architecture, rich coloration, and exceptional visual presence. No repairs. A standout example from a very limited find, showcasing the rare elegance of chrysocolla coating terminated quartz crystals.
