Dyscrasite with Calcite, Proustite$520.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
Gray crystalline dyscrasite very rich throughout a white massive calcite matrix. Very minor proustite present. Neat antique example for the species and locality. The specimen comes with an antique label as shown at the end of the video. The specimen dates to the very early 20th century. St Andreasberg, in the Harz Mountains of Germany, was an important silver mining center beginning in the 16th century, with rich hydrothermal veins producing silver, lead, and zinc. The district later became famous for its diverse and well crystallized mineral specimens. Mining activity declined in the 19th and early 20th centuries, and today the area is known primarily for its historic mines and mineralogical significance.
