This striking specimen features lustrous, deep red cinnabar crystals reaching up to 0.1 cm in size, attractively distributed across the matrix. While very minor micro damage is present, the crystals remain vibrant and well formed, maintaining strong visual appeal. The specimen originates from the historic Avala Mines near Belgrade, Serbia, a locality known since Roman times for its mercury rich deposits and celebrated for producing notable cinnabar specimens during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Preserved with its original antique label dating to the early 20th century, visible at the end of the video, this piece carries documented historical significance and provenance. A rare and classic example of this iconic European mercury mineral, well suited to collectors of historic mineral specimens.
