Rhodonite, 2.5 cm, from the San Martin mine, Chirucu, Huallance District, Bolognesi Province, Ancash, Peru. Collected by the mine owner, Teo Ramos in 2006; ex Marshall Koval collection. Exhibited in the special exhibit of Connoisseur Thumbnails at the 2010 Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, and in “The Best of the Best: Prize Minerals from the Vaults of Arizona Collectors” at the University of Arizona’s Flandrau Science Center and Planetarium in 2014.
