Enargite with Quartz$400.00

Leonard mine at Butte, in Silver Bow County, Montana, USA is one of the world's most important localities for Enargite (copper arsenic sulphide) crystals, but most specimens were mined a generation ago. That is likely when Martin Kershaw acquired this piece for his collection which he began assembling during the 1960s. It is true that the crystals are not the world's largest, but they provide an air of class, presenting the classic coffin-shaped flat termination with striated prism sides. Sat upon finely crystallized white Quartz, and with some Quartz overgrowth too, adds a lovely contrast in colour, making the Enargite crystals stand out even more. Size wise, the largest Enargite crystal reaches 1 cm across. There is a little damage around the periphery of the specimen, and a few slight nibbles to some of the central Enargite crystals but overall the Enargite crystals produce a really nice display. This really is a top quality miniature size Butte Enargite.
