Usually, Dioptase specimens from Tsumeb mine are known for their rich coverage of intensely emerald-green glossy crystals, but this superb miniature features just one Dioptase crystal, but boy is it a beauty. At over 2 cm in length, and a perfectly formed classic rhombic prism, it is simply magnificent. Allied to this, it is extremely gemmy, intensely emerald-green and has absolutely no damage to note, other than one small area of natural internal frosting, but externally it is sublime. It is sat perfectly, centrally upon a fine contrasting white Calcite matrix and, additionally, is associated with small radiating sprays of velvety green acicular Malachite - something not often seen with Dioptase at Tsumeb. An absolutely choice Tsumeb miniature. Ex Weyand Collection.
