Elbaite from Rubaya, North Kivu, DR Congo

Elbaite

Goma, North Kivu Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo

5.2 x 1.6 x 1.5

ex. Dr. Tom Campbell

This wonderful double terminated Elbaite Tourmaline from North Kivu features an almost complete spectrum of color gracefully melding into each other. Beginning with a rich cranberry red at the bottom, shifting into orange then amber, and it completes with a light to deep green at the top. The upper termination is a complex pyramid. Overall, the crystal is far more gemmy than shown in the picture.
