Chloritoid is a strange iron-magnesium silicate mineral rarely seen in collectible crystals, and really all great specimens seem to be from one major pocket. The crystals are uniquely styled, almost triangular at first glance. This first discovery - still the world's best of species, dates to the late 1990s. So far as I am aware, Herb Obodda bought the whole pocket - or near enough - and brought them out to the USA, where they immediately went into prestigious collections of the day (and at the time, many more collectors of "trophy minerals" also pursued rare species in superb form, as well).
