Azurite with Makachite
Milpillas Mine, Santa Cruz Mun., Sonora, Mexico
2.8 x 1.9 x 1.72 cm
Great luster and the “electric blue” color highlight this superb Azurite from Milpillas. The color is a result of a thin layer of Azurite over chatoyant Malachite ps. Azurite. This growth pattern occurs elsewhere but Milpillas is best known for this electric blue color since it is ubiquitous from most major finds at this mine. Ex. Alex Schauss
