Tsumeb is well-known for its outstanding calcite specimens. Most often rhombic in habit, Tsumeb calcites are frequently included with other minerals, especially copper minerals. This excellent, large thumbnail is highlighted by one single and sharp 7 mm calcite rhomb that is displayed perfectly on the matrix. The calcite also fluoresces orange, as expected. Within the calcite are floating clouds of velvety malachite. With the calcite being gem-clear, the crystal with the malachite looks like a mineral version of one of the famous Hubble space shots.
