Julcani mine is a highly productive high altitude silver mine in the Julcani District, Angaraes Province, Huancavelica, Peru. Mineralization comprising silver-lead-bismuth-copper-tungsten-gold is epithermal in form, hosted by mineralized fractures within Tertiary age dacitic and rhyolitic volcanics. The metalliferous mineralization is zoned, with gold, bismuth and tungsten within the central part of the Tentadora Dome and lead and silver towards the edges. Specimen-grade Native Gold is rarely seen, but this extremely showy miniature piece displays extremely well and shows nicely its association with high-temperature mineralization (tungsten - Ferberite). Upon it, bright golden-yellow metallic Native Gold forms finely crystallized flower-like growths upon typical epithermal poorly crystallized white Quartz with a large aggregate of crudely bladed dark brown Ferberite in the centre. This is an extremely rich Native Gold for the region and will make a fantastic addition to a comprehensive world-wide gold collection.
