Not only are Smithsonite pseudomorphs after Cerussite rare, but when you get pink, Cobaltoan Smithsonite pseudomorphing Cerussite then it becomes really special. This magnificent specimen from Tsumeb mine is not only colourful, spectacular and rare, but it also has presence too. It is a fairly large thin plate consisting of intergrown upright, but interlocking, 'blades' of soft pink Smithsonite encrusted pseudomorphs after Cerussite. The encrusting Smithsonite crystals are small (2 to 3 mm in size) but are really well formed and have an exceptional 'wet' lustre and are free from damage. At small cabinet size it displays supremely well and will elevate most Tsumeb collections or displays to the next level. Ex Somerville collection.
