NATIVE Copper ps. after Laumontite
Quincy mine in Houghton Co., Michigan, USA is justifiably famous for some of the world's finest crystals of Native Copper, but it has also produced some really oddities too, including pseudomorphs of Native Copper after Laumontite. This good sized miniature specimen features some really sharp monoclinic Native Copper crystals showing perfectly the form of Laumontite which is long gone, and reaching 8 mm in length. This type of pseudomorph is exceptionally rare from anywhere, let alone at Quincy mine. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a Michigan classic. Ex David Hardman collection.
