Hematite with Goethite
Most of this enormous specimen is composed of splendidly-formed Goethite botryoides, many of which are cloaked with a finely detailed tapestry of stalactitic Goethite. The largest of these botryoidal clusters reaches a respectable 5.0 centimeters in diameter. The Hematite has a metallic grey hue that is complete with rust-red accents and a nice metallic sheen; the brighter color and luster from the Hematite acts as a gently contrasting frame around the stalactites at the center of the specimen. The Goethite adds a little extra color to the piece, shifting between more traditional grey colors to vibrant displays of rusty-orange and olive-green. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
