This large and exquisite combination specimen is dominated by massive, superb books (or parallel stacks) of Muscovite, reaching an immense 5.4 centimeters across, and dotted with sharp associations of Schorl and Apatite. Each of the Muscovite crystals have a mixture of light grey colors on the flatter faces and olive green along the sides of the books, all of which is finished with a strong pearly sheen. More impressively, the thick Muscovite booklets are so compact that the non-stepped sides (along the a- and b-axis) are almost completely smooth to the touch. Most of the Schorl crystals terminate very nicely. There are two sizable crystals of Apatite on the specimen: one at the center and one at the bottom of the front side. In visible light, both crystals have a transparent peachy color; under UV light, both crystals will brightly fluoresce orange-yellow. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
