This full and robust cabinet specimen of Meta-Autunite comes from none other than the species' type-locality, the Daybreak Mine of Washington state: The term "type locality" refers to the locality that a mineral is first discovered and described from. The Meta-Autunite has formed into sharp, chunky wheatsheaves that reach up to 1.9 centimeters and have bright yellow-green edges; the edges and shallow crevices of each wheatsheaf are accented with a translucent, darker olive green hue. Turning the specimen over, the back has groups of smaller but extremely sharp Meta-Autunite crystals that grade from bright greenish-yellow to a darker green color. This piece has a very strong neon-green fluorescence under shortwave UV light.
