Dioptase on Dolomite: Stunning Dioptase on Dolomite from the famous Tsumeb Mine
Beautiful scattered distinctive crystals of Dioptase on Dolomite from the world class location of the Tsumeb Mine. The Dioptase crystals measure to 1.30 cm, and are artistically clustered along a raised ridge in a shallow convex cavity in a Dolomite matrix.
The Dioptase crystals have an bright vitreous luster with a fine deep green colour, with some crystals displaying internal neon like green reflections. Many of the larger crystals show faint striation on the prism faces. A few of the Dioptase crystals are partly covered by a second phase of micro Dolomite crystals with another integral growth of micro Diptase crystals. A fine display specimen of Dioptase from Tsumeb.
Location: From the Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Oshikoto Region (Otjikoto Region), Namibia
Measures: 4.7 x 4.5 x 3.4 cm in total size.
