Description
Rhodochrosite
Sweet Home Mine, Alma, Park County, Colorado
4.3x4.7x2.9cm
Cherry red Rhodo crystal on Quartz with Tetrahedrite. Old stock material from the 1990s. Originally Sweet Home Mine operated as a Silver mine, but the locality has produced many of the finest rhombohedral Rhodochrosite crystals in the World. This good sized crystal sits perched on a bed of white Quartz, giving a sharp contrast, with specks of Tetrahedrite, that fluoresce bright orange under a blacklight.
