Tucson, Arizona, USAAlthough the association of Mimetite, Cerussite and Duftite from the Tsumeb mine in the Oshikoto Region of Namibia is very common, this is a far from common specimen. Blocky prismatic crystals of colourless, glassy Cerussite, typically 15 x 8 x 8 mm, are richly coated on their upper surface with a continuous veneer of sucrosic pale lemon-yellow Mimetite micro-crystals. Beneath the specimen, the Cerussite crystals are similarly coated with a thin veneer of tiny rhombohedral Calcite crystals which in turn are completely hidden by a coating of bright leafy-lime green Duftite. The combination of these three minerals with striking colours and habits makes for a most eye-catching, interesting and aesthetic miniature.
