Dragon Scale Calcite
Description

Calcite with Chalcopyrite

Sweetwater Mine, Reynolds County, Missouri

13.7x6.8x5.7cm

Dragon scale calcite, from the Sweetwater Mine, with associated chalcopyrite. This specimen is a very desirable size, in excellent condition, with pronounced phantoms. Under direct light chalcopyrite inclusions refract light and they cover the included primary growth, forming phantom crystals. This piece was just recently found, after the pocket was made accessible again, following inaccessibility from flooding. Many of the specimens from this particular pocket are large in size and can have significant damage. This piece has a very clean front side, with some base cleavage on the back (at the point of attachment) and one very minor secondary tip cleave, also on the backside of the piece.

Comes with an adjustable 3 prong mineral stand for display.

Comes with a laminated identification card.
