Pyrosmalite-(Mn)$350.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
Pyrosmalite-(Mn) is a very rare manganese silicate hydroxide chloride first described from Sterling Hill in New Jersey, USA but the world's best crystals come from Broken Hill in New South Wales, Australia. This small miniature specimen from the latter locality is from the superb systematic collection assembled by the brothers Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021). It features an impressive 5 mm wide pseudohexagonal reddish-brown Pyrosmalite-(Mn) crystal partly embedded within Galena and partly with massive beige coloured Pyrosmalite-(Mn) or Bustamite. The crystal is not perfect, but is certainly very well-formed for this rarity, displaying very sharp prism edges and the start of one termination. The remainder of the crystal faces are embedded within the matrix.
