Tucson, Arizona, USAColusite is a rare copper vanadium arsenic sulphide which occurs on this large miniature as tiny golden-bronze metallic crystals together with Covellite, Bornite and Quartz. From the historic Butte Mining District in Silver Bow County, Montana, USA, all four species form crystals along one face of a tan, cream and light grey Quartzite matrix. The Covellite forms as a black blades with peacock blue, mauve and purple iridescence together with small, similar coloured Bornite crystals nestled between the blades. These sit on a bed of colourless and gemmy Quartz micro-crystals of, say, 1 to 3 mm tall. An interesting combination of species from Butte with a Prosper J. Williams (Toronto) label.
