Attractive pale blue lustrous and gemmy octahedral crystals of fluorite to 1.2 cm in size scattered attractively across a crystalline quartz matrix. This is in terrific condition. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Jan Erik Larsen.Located in the rugged Atlas mountain terrain of central Morocco, the Arhbalou and Boumia region near Midelt features complex geological formations characterized by Paleozoic and Mesozoic sedimentary rocks cut by hydrothermal vein systems. These geological settings are historically famous for producing exceptional mineral specimens, particularly striking crystalline varieties of fluorite alongside various metallic ores. While large scale industrial extraction and small scale artisanal prospecting across the broader Draa Tafilalet and Midelt mining districts focused heavily on lead, zinc, and copper, the surrounding pockets have long attracted mineral collectors seeking fine examples of fluorite.
