JAMESITE with Tsumcorite
Unknown Owner
An exceptional Jamesite specimen from the Type Locality - Tsumeb mine, Oshikoto Region, Namibia. A 2 mm diameter spherical spray of silky orange-brown acicular Jamesite crystals sits atop of a 1 cm long cavity lined with felt-like silky Jamesite. The main spherical spray shows evidence of having been contacted, possibly against the lid of the box, but still looks very good. The main matrix of the specimen is dense oxidized ore the base of which has a large (2 x 1.5 cm) area of vivid yellow Tsumcorite. Many other unusual species may well be present, including insipid green ?zincolivenite and various white crystals. A rich specimen of unusual oxidation species.
