Gemmy orange, to clove brown, Grossular garnet (var. Hessonite) crystals from Jeffrey mine in Québec, Canada. The crystals, which measure to 1 cm across, display lovely stepped growth lines on the crystal faces and have the classic Jeffrey mine colour and intense glassy lustre. The crystals form a small aggregated cluster on a piece of rock matrix. Around the edges the crystals are rough where they were interlocked, or joined to other crystals, but the brightness and colour is exceptional .
