Tonglushan Mine, Daye Co., Huangshi, Hubei, China
8.5 x 11.0 x 6.5 cm
Formerly in the collection of Kevin Schofield.
Calcites from China often are viewed as common, or average. Rarely does one come by a truly perfect, undamaged, aesthetic, and balanced specimen. This particular piece checks all of those boxes. The brilliant display qualities of the specimen make it a connoisseurs choice, should they value quality like this. Additionally, the color of the Calcite is a warm brown when lit from the front, but a beautiful, rusty-red color when lit from the back.
